David Barton Resemblance to Roman Emperor Constantine

Why did the Roman empire fall? Because when the last emperor, and basically the first pope, Constantine made it illegal to persecute the Christians, Rome began its decline. It was all  he thought, as does David Burton that we as Christians must render to Caesar what is God’s, and to God what is Caesar’s.

Jesus said the exact opposite of what Barton spreads around. Why did Jesus ask for a coin to use in illustration to answer their question when they asked him if they should pay tribute to Caesar. Because Jesus knows that money answers everything as says in Ecclesiastes. Many people worship money, they honor money; it controls their lives.

Caesar’s image was on the coin in Rome as is today in America the image of American presidents are found on our money. Jesus said to render to them what is theirs and to God what is God’s.

The gospel must be preached to the world as Jesus said. But when Rome became the “kingdom of God” back in the 5th century AD, the Dark Ages formed from that error, then slipped its darkness and confusion to cover everything that was once civilized.

America is not a Christian nation. The fact is America is a nation filled with many Christians. If America was nationally holy we would have won the world to Jesus. There would be no Hindus no Buddhists no Muslims. No one in any remote corner of the world would be pagan or heathen. They would not be committing idolatry but would be worshiping the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. No one would be  starving to death. No one would hate his brother. The world would be a paradise where all are prosperous. This describes the kingdom of God that is coming not this idolatrous nation that Barton calls holy.

Within our borders would be no gangs and no racism. No political corruption and no divorces. No murders and no homosexuality. Nothing would be here that would mar the beauty of what God said when he laid on the world the laws at Sinai.

Christians obey God not just profess him. Barton professes for over 300 million people what is not even true of millions of them. This is wrong. He cannot speak for anyone but himself.  Making laws to force people to obey God is what happened to Rome.

Constantine in essence said “Do not say anything against the Christians. It is against the law to hate them, persecute them, slander them and kill them.” Soon you could not tell the difference between church and state.

Rome fell.

But as someone wisely observed You cannot legislate morality. It is Jesus who saves not Constantine or Washington or Madison or Jefferson. Or anyone.. It is Jesus’ blood that washes sins away not the sacrifices of anyone how noble be their intent.

Not marching through streets demanding equal rights and equal respect. If someone doesn’t want you around stay away. Nowhere did Jesus say to march to make your voice heard. He said to repent and to go tell the world that Jesus loves them. Salvation has nothing to do with nations it is a personal relationship with the person and God.

What good is it to say you’re a Christian if you do not do what Jesus said? Jesus said;

21 Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?”
23 And then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.”

National America could say all day it is a Christian nation as David Barton erroneously thinks it is. But America is not a theocracy and it is not holy to God. I love my country but as a Christian I can see that America is one of the most wicked nations on earth with all its rebellion against God.

In America are many beliefs and many different ways of life. They are lived by pagans, wiccans and new-agers, etc. Every form of thinking is found here in America. No one agrees on anything. This nation is diverse in every way.

Not only in nationalities and ethnics but in religious beliefs. Look through any phonebook and find hundreds of different churches listed there. Why do they all have their own church? Because they all think they are right and everyone who doesn’t share that view is wrong.

This is America.
