God and Darkness and Light (Part 2)

Book of Genesis, Hainanese Bible.

12Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Darkness was created by God in the beginning. He created darkness before He spoke light into existence.

And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: [he made] the stars also. (Genesis 1:16)

and we all know the moon, so they say, gets its light from the sun. But regardless, the sun and the moon are two great lights just as it says in the Bible.

So were darkness and light at one time the same? It says that he divided them and called the light day and he called the darkness night?  We know they are the same to him.

Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light [are] both alike [to thee]. (Psalm 139:12)

But they were not to be the same to us.  Then Light appeared after God SAID.  He spoke and light came into existence. God saw that the light was good.

He never said the darkness was not good or that it was good. But it is made clear to us that he saw that the light was good.

Jesus is the word made flesh. Everything God had to say is Jesus Christ.

And Jesus said I am the light of the world. In other words there is no light but for him. What God said (the Word) came into existence in Bethlehem as a newborn baby: the Genesis 3:15 promised Messiah.

Light came into the world in Jesus Christ. And there is no darkness in Christ and no dusk.

The people who sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. (Matthew 4:16)

And this was two thousand years ago that these people were sitting there in darkness when they saw great light. They saw Jesus!

When God said let there be light the sun appeared. But there was much more to darkness and light than what nature is.

Did Eve see nothing wrong in doing wrong, so she did wrong? She and her husband left the light to walk in darkness. It was after the first humans sinned when God said he would put enmity between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent.

Obviously there was no enmity between the seeds before they ate of the forbidden fruit. There was no way Adam and Eve knew anything about it. They could not have known anything until the Lord told them what they had done. They only knew they were naked and ashamed. They did not repent of their sin but tried to explain it.. They did not ask for help. They said and did nothing except disobey.

But great light came into the world because God promised he would come.

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, (Galatians 4:4)

God spoke light into existence in the beginning. Jesus was what God said made flesh.  Natural light: the sun moon and stars and spiritual light: the Christ.

Jesus even calls himself the bright and morning star. Well, every natural star rises earlier than it did the day before. So Jesus is saying he is always first.

Yet there will come a day when no light from the sun will be needed for it says the Lord will be the light thereof.

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb [is] the light thereof. (Revelation of Jesus Christ 21:23)

There is no light but Jesus Christ. Without him there is darkness. If one walks in darkness he cannot see where he is going.

I pray everyone gets in the light who is Christ.
