God’s Judgment On False Prophets

Carl Olof Rosenius preaching in Betlehemskyrka...

Jesus said …..He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18)

I heard a prophet on a Christian television program say that some preachers are going to start dropping dead behind their pulpits.

If a preacher says God will make us prosper if we send them money, I do not believe it. However, if they say God is going to kill you if you don’t repent, then I believe it. Why? Because He did it all the time in the Bible.

God does not love anyone more than he loved Ananias and Sapphira. Yet he struck them dead. Peter rebuked them before all.

He did not offer them counselling. He did not offer them a chance. He did not instruct them to go recite one-hundred Hail Mary’s. He did not tell them “I understand. No one is perfect.” He offered no altar to kneel and repent at. No covering it up. Peter did not even forgive them himself. He said for lying to the Holy Ghost you must die.

Next scene: two corpses lying at Peter’s feet. One died, then the other. Their dead bodies carried out, and buried, and the church rolled on.

We can just imagine how filled with fear all the church was after seeing these two now alive, now dead. Struck dead before them all. It would appear that those of Peter’s congregation did not try the same thing Ananias and Sapphira tried.

Back to the pulpit deaths…of course we know a pulpit means more than the standard ones we see in churches. Any preacher out there who is preaching a false gospel is in danger of being among those who drop dead under the judgment of God.

You know that God hasn’t changed one iota about how he sees sin. He still hates it and it will still be punished. Nothing has changed.

Why do some ministers who stand behind a pulpit preaching not live as God commands them to live? Simple answer: they don’t want to. How do we know this is true? Because God is good, and he is just, and he is merciful. He will never, ever, ever command us to do what we cannot do THROUGH Christ.

It is possible to live for Jesus.

And Paul the apostle said we can do all things through Christ. If God told you to do it, then you can do it through him who loved us and bought us with his blood. Someone said God will not bring you to it, if he does not bring you through it.

God commands all men everywhere to repent. But man tells God go away. Not today God I’m busy having fun. I am satisfying my flesh so take a hike. Go away  God go away.

Jesus already said that few will find the way to eternal life. Many will go to hell. Horrible! Oh God does it have to be that many will be lost forever suffering the eternal flames of hell?

Some say there is no hell.

Do they really think the suffering we see today in the world is not allowed by God? God is Sovereign. He is either doing his will, or permitting what is not his will. How he does this is not to be understood. He warns the world repent repent repent or perish.

But as sinners from times of old the world tells God GO AWAY.

However God cannot go away. He is omnipresent and fills all in all.

When one sees the suffering in the world today, it is difficult to bear it. But it is God who allows it. If one does not obey he suffers.

Better to repent today then find out later that to die without Christ is to go to that place where the worm dies not and the fire is not quenched. Jesus said that not me.

Church and State Separate (Texas Case)

Some years ago a young woman was executed by lethal injection by the state of Texas for committing two brutal murders. Karla Faye Tucker had a rough troubled life until she was so far gone into drugs and addictions she followed the road that was leading her to hell.

One sad day she axed two people to death and later said she found pleasure in it. This is how deep in sin she had gone.

But while she was in prison the Lord saved her from her sins even as he promised he would do for anyone who calls on his name for salvation.

She dedicated her life to the gospel teaching others of the love of Jesus.

She was a member of the body of Christ and lived the life to support the claim that she was born again; a new creature in Christ Jesus.

But Texas did not care if she was radically saved. They killed her anyhow for the evil deeds she had done. Texas did not see her sins as under the blood for how could they execute a woman of God? Texas executed a murderer not a woman of God according to them. But the church said they executed a woman of God washed in the blood of Jesus and filled with the Holy Spirit.

Did Texas execute a murderess or did Texas execute a woman of God? One cannot be a murderer and a Christian at the same time. It cannot be. One or the other is the facts of it.

David Barton of Wall builders claims that the church and the state are intended by God to be the same thing. Many believe this also. But if the state and the church are not separate  as David Barton and all the Dominionists believe why did they not forgive Karla Faye Tucker and let her live?

Why did not the Romans allow Peter to live? History says they crucified Peter for transgressing their laws. We can be sure Peter was an innocent man. But we cannot compare Peter to Karla Faye Tucker. Tucker did commit the murders. She confessed to it and asked forgiveness from the families of her victims.

All through history we see the church and state are not the same.

 22 The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods. 23 After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. 24 When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.

 25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!”

 29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. 34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.

 35 When it was daylight, the magistrates sent their officers to the jailer with the order: “Release those men.” 36 The jailer told Paul, “The magistrates have ordered that you and Silas be released. Now you can leave. Go in peace.” (Acts 16)

In these passages we see there was a great earthquake. All their bands were loosed and all the doors were opened. But what did Paul do? Did he and Silas run out of the jail shouting hallelujah because God had set them free from jail? No, in fact when the jailer was about to kill himself, rather than face his superiors for losing his prisoners Paul said to him not to do himself harm for they were all there. Paul and Silas could have run off. But they knew that church and state are separate. God loosed all their bands because the truth is God wants no one in jail or in chains. He wants all men free in every way.

Paul and Silas knew to submit to the state laws even though they knew God wanted them free.

The state doesn’t see it as God does. Jesus said to render to Caesar what is his and to God what is his.

Karla Faye Tucker rendered to Caesar what was his and to God what was his. It had to be this way. It must be understood that God also loved the victims and their families.

Church and state are separate and for it to be seen as the same is to confuse Caesar with God.

Church and State Obviously are Separate

Ephesians Chapter 4:[1] I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
[2] With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love;
[3] Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
[4] There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
[5] One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
[6] One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
[7] But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
[8] Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
[9] (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
[10] He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
[11] And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
[12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
[13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
[14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
[15] But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
[16] From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
[17] This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
[18] Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
[19] Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
[20] But ye have not so learned Christ;
[21] If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
[22] That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
[23] And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
[24] And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
[25] Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
[26] Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
[27] Neither give place to the devil.
[28] Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
[29] Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
[30] And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
[31] Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
[32] And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
In this chapter Paul’s letter was not to the unsaved citizens of Ephesus, but to the church at Ephesus whom he called saints. He called them “the faithful the called in Christ Jesus”.

They were the saved of that city not to sinners who did not know Christ. Apostles prophets pastors evangelists and teachers, which is the five-fold ministry,was not given to the government but to the church. For the perfecting of the saints and for the work of the ministry. God did not provide for the government what he gave to the church. If one is not in the church he is lost without Christ and headed to hell. This is the clear teaching of Jesus.

To believe America is a Christian nation, which it is not, is the same as saying what Paul said in this particular letter (and all of his letters) is to all citizens of the United States.

Though Christians are against the beliefs of many in this nation, It must still be recognized all citizens of the nation have rights under the Constitution to the pursuit of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Even though Christians disagree with their idea of what life liberty and the pursuit of happiness is still it must recognized their right to their idea of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Anyone who reads Paul’s letter to the Ephesians or any of his letters to the church, if honest, must recognize Paul did not intend that the instructions in his inspired letters to be followed by the unsaved.

The Bible is clear that one must be saved to inherit eternal life. Jesus said unless one is born again he cannot by any means enter the kingdom of God. (John 3)

One must believe in Jesus Christ to be saved from sin. And to believe in him is to follow him by obeying his commandments.

The government does not follow Christ. They give rights to do whatever one wants to do.

Hypocrites and a Saint

Sister Longtung arrived at church early to practice in the choir. She smiled broadly as she said hello to each of the other choir members. She than took her place to sing.

They sang Thank God for saving a sinner like me, and I want to be like Jesus everyday. She raised her hands and praised the Lord! They practiced until they got the song down perfect.

“Okay that’s it for tonight!” the choir director said. “It is now time to pray for the service.” They all knelt down at a pew and began to pray. “Oh God thank you for this and thank you for that.  Bless me and my family and take us all to heaven someday.” sister Longtung was heard to say. Sister Dufus said “Thank you Lord for all the blessings on my life.” Sister Moody shouted glory!”

After about thirty minutes of prayer they all stood and took their seats in the pews.

The church quickly filled as the clock neared service time which was 7 PM.

The pastor arrived. They all sang together. Then they all stood and testified. Then they all listened quietly while the preacher preached to them about the love of God and how he sent his Son to save us from our sins. He preached that we are to love and forgive others. That we are to reach out to the downcast and show them the love of God. He wiped his eyes as he told of the great price Jesus paid to redeem the sinners. That we need to be like him.

They all said Amen! Sister Longtung said “That is right and amen to that preacher.”

Finally the pastor dismissed and they all left the building.

As soon as they exited the building sister Longtung said, “I can’t believe the dress sister Poore was wearing tonight. Didn’t she wear that old thing the last two services?”  She sighed as she walked beside sister Dufus and sister Moody in the parking lot to their cars.

“Yes she did wear that ugly dress for the last two services.” sister Dufus answered, ” I think she dug it out of an old trash bin on Overtripp Drive where they have all those discount stores.”

Hearing this sister Moody laughed so loud others  in the parking lot turned to look at her.

“Well at least it was new when they tossed it out.” she offered. ” Oh yeah and I heard her husband got drunk last week and broke their second hand coffee table.” sister Dufus chimed in.

“I wouldn’t be surprised since he is nothing but an old sot!” sister Longtung laughed.

Sister Moody answered, “I told my husband about that weird couple and he said her loser husband lost his job for missing so much work because of his drinking.”

“I tell you I guess some people never learn how to do right.” explained sister Moody.

“I agree. Some people just don’t get it!” said sister Dufus.

Meanwhile sister Poore reaches home alone. She finds her husband sitting on the sofa with a beer in his hand. “Hi honey!” she says to him “How was your evening? I wish you had come to the service with me. They sang such lovely songs.”

“I don’t need to go to any church I told you!”

“I love you anyway. Would you like me to bring you anything before I sit down and relax on the sofa with you?” she asks as she kisses him on his cheek.

“Yes bring me a sandwich and chips. I’m done drinking for tonight.”

She brings the sandwich and chips, hands them to him with a smile. He says thanks and she sits down beside him.

“You know honey there are three sisters at church the Lord has laid on my heart to pray for. Sisters Dufus and Moody and Longtung. I don’t know why the Lord has so strongly laid them on my heart to pray for them.  But I am going to pray for them and even fast for them as I do for you to quit drinking. They are always so nice to me at church. They always have a smile and a kind word for me. They said to tell you they think you’re a great guy just going through some hard times. I agreed and I know that since the Lord changed my heart just a month ago he will do the same for you. I want you to know I am here for you. I love you very much.”

Her husband patted her hand and said, “Thank you I believe it too.”

Sisters Longtung and sister Dufus and sister Moody are three big reasons why many do not attend church and why so many hate church.

We need to look only at Christ as does sister Poore who prays instead of slandering others, backbiting,  gossiping and lying and mocking .

She knows the scripture says that faith works by love.
