GOD Happiness and America

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE

Certain unalienable rights: Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That the very reason governments are instituted is to make sure rights are recognized. It is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government if it becomes destructive to the governed being happy.  Since the just powers came from the governed. It goes on that the foundation needed, if indeed another is needed, it is to be laid is that which most likely will make the people happy. Makes perfect sense.

Except people differ on what makes them happy. This is the problem.

Different people have different views and ideas on what makes them happy.

Sitting down at a bar stool to order a cold drink is what some call happiness. Others would disagree. Playing tennis is to some happiness while to many others this is not happiness but boredom. My brother said once that if he had to live in a run down old house he would die of depression in two weeks. Yet some people do it just fine and are happy.

I read of prison inmates whose conversation was being listened to, discussing the “best way to burglarize a house” This is how they saw it. What one person thinks is not what the next person thinks. I understand that burglarizing homes is wrong period. But apparently those who discussed the “best way” to rob homes obviously have a handicap in their thinking. But to say that is to perhaps invite a lawsuit against yourself for discrimination against the handicapped. Who says they’re handicapped? The homeowners for starters. Everyone has rights in America and no one is wrong….unless you get caught and punished according to the law. And even then the wrong one could and usually still thinks he is right. It is absolutely maddening!

If one says that it is not judging the thief. There are absolutes and stealing is wrong. End of story.

And what does the Bill of Rights say to them and for them? It is  basically saying they have the right to  talk stupid. Is that the pursuit of happiness to discuss how to steal and rob? Of course not, but the Bill of Rights is about rights. Inmates have the right to discuss how to rob houses. Are they pursuing happiness when they seriously discuss the “best way to burglarize a home.”?

Not according to good old common sense. If they do burglarize homes than it concerns the home owners rights also. Then the law gets involved since the law was made for the lawless. The law will punish the home robbers.

Doesn’t this sound like the 8th commandment You shall not steal? yes it is about the 8th commandment. All civilized nations are founded on the principles right and wrong. These principles came from the Bible so it follows that all civilized nations were founded as Christian nations. But to say America is a Christian nation is promoting an idea that is vague at best. America is not a Christian nation simply because it does not obey God. Nor any other nation Christian if it is disobedient to the written word of God.

To be Christian is to be like Christ.

America says you have the right to say stupid things. Some may think that if one has the right to say stupid things, than there are those who should not speak at all. Because all they say is stupid. America even allows you to burglarize homes because America does not know you plan on breaking in to a home to steal others things. So they must deal with you after the fact…and this is only if they apprehend you. Talk about free will. Does the Bible give us free will? No God gave us commandments. Obey them and live disobey them and die. No prisoners taken. No slack cut. Not chances given. Sin and die.

The Torah does not give you any rights. The Torah commands you not to burglarize homes. According to the Torah you have no rights. If you disobey the law of God and steal than you will be punished. Death is only the punishment for sin. Why would more be needed?

Isn’t this what the Bill of rights says? Steal if you want but we will punish you if you are caught.

God says YOU SHALL NOT STEAL. America says not to steal as do all nations say not to steal, but if you do and get caught the law will punish you on behalf of all the people, not only the ones you robbed.

There is a big difference in you have the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness and You shall not..

YOU have the right to do whatever makes you happy. Seems wise to first know what happiness is. God’s word says happiness is found in obedience to him.

Man’s idea of happiness is not what God says is happiness.

America does not obey God nationally so America is not a Christian nation, it is a nation founded on rights for all men who were created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.

The right to sin.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
1. Do not worship other gods.

2. Do not worship idols.
3. Do not misuse God’s name.
4. Keep the Sabbath holy.
5. Honor your father & mother.
6. Do not murder.
7. Do not commit adultery.
8. Do not steal.
9. Do not lie.
10. Do not covet.

America transgresses all these commandments daily so it follows it is not a Christian nation. It is a nation that is the home to many Christians.
