False Prophets and Satan

Print by Gustave Doré illustrating the parable...

Image via Wikipedia

Jesus said; The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly. (John 10:10)

Anyone no matter if he is calling down fire from heaven as Jesus said the false prophets will do if he is using offerings to make himself rich so he can live like a king or queen is a false prophet.

I heard Paul Crouch ( I do like the man) say that why should he not be rich. After all he reasoned the Patriarch Abraham was.

The Patriarch Abraham was also a literal physical ancestor of Jesus Christ. Comparing oneself to the patriarch Abraham is absurd.  If one has this attitude he is bragging not humbling himself. Christians being rich has nothing to do with being a Christian. Sinners are rich. This is not proof of God’s favor.

How many times do we have to read the story of the rich man and Lazarus to know that God does not appreciate how rich people live? The rich man went to hell. Not for being rich but for the way he treated Lazarus. There are some Lazarus people out there. And there are some Lazarus nations out there. How one treats them determines God’s response..

So anyone who is rich and does not help the poor and sick and outcasts is going to hell. It cannot be any clearer than it is.

There are right now those who take in millions of dollars from offerings and use that money to live like kings and queens. Is this right? It is not biblically possible to be a Christian and live rich while your neighbor is suffering.

Can one be jealous of these people? No because no one who follows Jesus is jealous of what the devil does. It is Satan who is doing all this not God.

Yeshua Speaking of Religious Hypocrites

NOTE: If anyone preaches like this now he is called mean.

Matthew 23: 1-3 Now Jesus turned to address his disciples, along with the

crowd that had gathered with them. “The religion scholars and Pharisees are competent teachers in God’s Law. You won’t go wrong in following their teachings on Moses. But be careful about following them. They talk a good line, but they don’t live it. They don’t take it into their hearts and live it out in their behavior. It’s all spit-and-polish veneer.4-7“Instead of giving you God’s Law as food and drink by which you can banquet on God, they package it in bundles of rules, loading you down like pack animals. They seem to take pleasure in watching you stagger under these loads, and wouldn’t think of lifting a finger to help. Their lives are perpetual fashion shows, embroidered prayer shawls one day and flowery prayers the next. They love to sit at the head table at church dinners, basking in the most prominent positions, preening in the radiance of public flattery, receiving honorary degrees, and getting called ‘Doctor’ and ‘Reverend.’

8-10“Don’t let people do that to you, put you on a pedestal like that. You all have a single Teacher, and you are all classmates. Don’t set people up as experts over your life, letting them tell you what to do. Save that authority for God; let him tell you what to do. No one else should carry the title of ‘Father’; you have only one Father, and he’s in heaven. And don’t let people maneuver you into taking charge of them. There is only one Life-Leader for you and them—Christ.

11-12“Do you want to stand out? Then step down. Be a servant. If you puff yourself up, you’ll get the wind knocked out of you. But if you’re content to simply be yourself, your life will count for plenty.

Frauds!

13“I’ve had it with you! You’re hopeless, you religion scholars, you Pharisees! Frauds! Your lives are roadblocks to God’s kingdom. You refuse to enter, and won’t let anyone else in either.15“You’re hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees! Frauds! You go halfway around the world to make a convert, but once you get him you make him into a replica of yourselves, double-damned.

16-22“You’re hopeless! What arrogant stupidity! You say, ‘If someone makes a promise with his fingers crossed, that’s nothing; but if he swears with his hand on the Bible, that’s serious.’ What ignorance! Does the leather on the Bible carry more weight than the skin on your hands? And what about this piece of trivia: ‘If you shake hands on a promise, that’s nothing; but if you raise your hand that God is your witness, that’s serious’? What ridiculous hairsplitting! What difference does it make whether you shake hands or raise hands? A promise is a promise. What difference does it make if you make your promise inside or outside a house of worship? A promise is a promise. God is present, watching and holding you to account regardless.

23-24“You’re hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees! Frauds! You keep meticulous account books, tithing on every nickel and dime you get, but on the meat of God’s Law, things like fairness and compassion and commitment—the absolute basics!—you carelessly take it or leave it. Careful bookkeeping is commendable, but the basics are required. Do you have any idea how silly you look, writing a life story that’s wrong from start to finish, nitpicking over commas and semicolons?

25-26“You’re hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees! Frauds! You burnish the surface of your cups and bowls so they sparkle in the sun, while the insides are maggoty with your greed and gluttony. Stupid Pharisee! Scour the insides, and then the gleaming surface will mean something.

27-28“You’re hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees! Frauds! You’re like manicured grave plots, grass clipped and the flowers bright, but six feet down it’s all rotting bones and worm-eaten flesh. People look at you and think you’re saints, but beneath the skin you’re total frauds.

29-32“You’re hopeless, you religion scholars and Pharisees! Frauds! You build granite tombs for your prophets and marble monuments for your saints. And you say that if you had lived in the days of your ancestors, no blood would have been on your hands. You protest too much! You’re cut from the same cloth as those murderers, and daily add to the death count.

33-34“Snakes! Reptilian sneaks! Do you think you can worm your way out of this? Never have to pay the piper? It’s on account of people like you that I send prophets and wise guides and scholars generation after generation—and generation after generation you treat them like dirt, greeting them with lynch mobs, hounding them with abuse.

35-36“You can’t squirm out of this: Every drop of righteous blood ever spilled on this earth, beginning with the blood of that good man Abel right down to the blood of Zechariah, Barachiah’s son, whom you murdered at his prayers, is on your head. All this, I’m telling you, is coming down on you, on your generation.

37-39“Jerusalem! Jerusalem! Murderer of prophets! Killer of the ones who brought you God’s news! How often I’ve ached to embrace your children, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you wouldn’t let me. And now you’re so desolate, nothing but a ghost town. What is there left to say? Only this: I’m out of here soon. The next time you see me you’ll say, ‘Oh, God has blessed him! He’s come, bringing God’s rule!'”

Hell and How Not To Get There

When God said he is a jealous God he didn’t mean he is weeping tears like an offended weak lover. I have read some say that God is weeping over America. I think not. Never in the Bible does the Lord weep over anything. Or anyone. Except once when He wept over Jerusalem when he saw their destruction coming. He tolerates no worship of anything only of himself.

In 70 AD just as Jesus said Jerusalem was laid waste. Their temple destroyed and a multitude of Jews died. Those who managed to escape were scattered among the nations to wander a suffering rejected people even as God said would happen to them for all their sins.

I understand God to be a consuming fire. A God that without mercy can decimate a nation in an instant like he did to Nineveh. They did repent at Jonah’s preaching. But seventy years later he did destroy them. I see God as one who does not, will not tolerate disobedience. He is God and does not appreciate anyone or anything trying to exalt themselves when he is the only exalted one.

I got a clear clue of the nature of God when he cast from heaven a beautiful angel who said I will be like the Most High. God told him You will be brought down to the sides of the pit. No mercy no chance no constitutional rights no nothing. Angel becomes the devil..forever.  End of story.

God did not redeem that disobedient angel. The Canaanites had over 400 years to repent. they did not and he utterly destroyed them. One man reached out to keep the ark of the covenant from tipping and God struck him dead. Ananias and Sapphira were stuck dead  for lying to the Holy Spirit. Herod was struck dead for not giving God glory and the worms ate him up. Then the next verse says But the word of God grew and multiplied.

We humans have a chance and only because of Christ. Without Christ it is hell. God will do it. There are some people who are actually (scary) going to hear Jesus say to them, Depart from me I never knew you. They will have to depart. Depart to where? To where the worm dies not and the fire is not quenched. To the outer darkness.

Read about him through the Bible beginning at Genesis to Malachi. He is there and then he is not there. As you study God and his dealings with Israel.  He is doing great miracles. Then things change and he is not doing it as before.  Things dramatically change. Israel bows down to every false god and commits harlotry under every green tree.

God got tired of it. Next scene: Israel is  punished rebuked and scattered among the nations. And the Old Testament ends with God saying… Lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

How much proof do humans need that God does not like disobedience. If one sins they are his enemy make no mistake. How do you feel when your child disobeys you? Say they did continually while making fun of you. You would not look at their disobedience and mockery and say how cute they are. Nor would you weep over them. You will set them in order or you are not a fit parent. How much more God?

Yet this is what many do to God today. Mock him not realizing he is giving them time to repent. He said his Spirit will not always strive with man. And he prefers mercy to judgment.

God is love. However what many do not realize is this: he is also a God of judgment. God cuts no slack to anyone who mocks him. His only remedy is Christ. Reject His Son and you are done.

I read a  true story of a man whose young daughter died. The father got angry at God. He left church one day a bitter and angry man. As he passed close to a tree lightning struck the tree.  The angry father of the dead child screamed up at God.. Do it again God!!!

The years moved forward until thirty years to the day had passed since God  struck that tree with lightning. .It so happened that this man was passing that same tree by that church one day. Suddenly out of the sky came lightning and struck it again. God did not apologize to the man. But the man finally surrendered to God.

It is best to surrender and go along peacefully One preacher said that God does not negotiate with us because we have nothing to negotiate with.  We have nothing to bring to the table.

Humble yourselves and repent. Be sorry for your sins and get Jesus in you. Then when he sees the Blood he will do for you as he did for ancient Israel when the death angel passed through Egypt killing all the firstborn..he will Pass over you.

Apply the Blood of Jesus to the doorpost of your heart and soul to your life and be saved from what is coming on the earth.

The Seriousness of Salvation

“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him (Hebrews 2: 3).

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12).

I recall reading the following sad account years ago. Skeptics may say it is a story concocted by Christians to scare sinners into repentance. But it is absurd it is impossible a Christian would write such a thing if not true. No Christian would play around with such things for any reason:

The following incident is concerning a young lady, who, under deep conviction for sin, left a revival meeting to attend a dance which had been gotten up by a party of ungodly men, for the purpose of breaking up the meeting.  She caught a severe cold at the dance and was soon on her death bed.

In conversation with a minister, she said, “Mr. Rice, my mind was never clearer. I tell you all today that I do not wish to be a Christian. Don’t want to go to heaven — would not if I could. I would rather go to hell than heaven, they need not keep the gates closed.” “But you don’t want to go to hell, do you Jennie?” was asked.

She replied, “No, Mr. Rice. O, that I had never been born. I am suffering now the agonies of the lost. If I could but get away from God; but no, I must always see Him and be looked upon by Him. How I hate Him — I cannot help it.

I drove His Spirit from my heart when He would have filled it with His love; and now I am left to my own evil nature — given over to the devil for my eternal destruction. My agony is inexpressible! How will I endure the endless ages of eternity? Oh that dreadful, unlimited, unfathomable eternity.” When asked by Mr. Rice how she got into that despairing mood, she replied, “It was that fatal Friday evening last winter when I deliberately stayed away from the meeting to attend the dance. I felt so sad, for my heart was tender — I could scarcely keep from weeping.

I felt provoked to think that my last dance, as I felt it to be for some cause, should be spoiled. I endured it until I became angry, then with all my might I drove the influence of the Spirit away from me, and it was then that I had the feeling that He had left me forever.

I knew that I had done something terrible, but it was done. From that time I have had no desire to be a Christian, but have been sinking down into deeper darkness and more bitter despair. And now all around, and above and beneath me are impenetrable clouds of darkness. O, the terrible gloom; when will it cease?” She then sank away and lay like one dead a short time. But she raised her hand slightly, her lips quivering as if in the agonies of death, her eyes opened with a fixed and awful stare, and then gave such a despairing groan that sent the chill blood to every heart. “Oh, what horror,” whispered the sufferer.

Then turning to Mr. Rice, she said, “Go home now and return this evening. I don’t want you to pray for me. I don’t want to be tormented with the sound of prayer.” About four o’clock she inquired the time, and upon being told exclaimed, “O, how slowly the hours wear away. This day seems an age to me. O, how will I endure eternity?” In about an hour she said, “How slowly the time drags. Why may I not cease to be?” About seven P. M. she sent for Mr. Rice.

As he approached her bed Jennie said to him, “I want you to preach at my funeral. Warn all of my young friends against the ball-room. Remember everything I have said and use it.” He replied, “How can I do this? Jennie, how I do wish you were a good Christian, and had a hope of eternal life.”! ‘Now, Mr. Rice, I don’t want to hear anything about that. I do not want to be tormented with the thought. I am utterly hopeless; my time is growing short; my fate is eternally fixed/ I die without hope because I insulted the Holy Spirit so bitterly.

He has justly left me alone to go down to eternal night. He could not have borne with me any longer and followed farther and retained His divine honor and dignity. I wait but a few moments, and as much as I dread it, I must quit these mortal shores. I would delay, I would linger — but no!

The fiends, they come; O save me! They drag me down! Lost! lost! lost!” she whispered as she struggled in the agonies of death. A moment more and she rallied and with glazed eyes she looked upon her weeping friends for the last time, then the lids sank partly down and pressed out a remaining tear as she whispered, “Bind me, ye chains of darkness! Oh! that I might cease to be, but still exist.

The worm that never dies, the second death.” The spirit fled, and Jennie Gordon lay a lifeless form of clay. — The Unequal Yoke, by J. H. Miller

Atheist Interview!

Chapter two (2)

The atheist who was held captive by an imaginary person in a remote cabin, whom he claimed was murdering innocent people while treating him quite well, agreed to an interview to answer questions about what he endured during his week of captivity.

The following is the transcript:

“Thank you atheist for agreeing to continue this  interview.”

“No problem. I talk to anyone I can see. I can SEE you! Hello?”

“I don’t understand….”

“I can see you. I have evidence that you exist. I see you. I must have evidence or I cannot be swayed, coerced, persuaded, certainly not convinced in any gods unless I have evidence.”

“Oh! Okay I understand now..you’re an atheist and do not believe in invisible gods. But you believe in what you can see.”

“That’s right! I don’t believe in flying spaghetti monsters or fairies dancing on lawns. I am an empiricist and must have evidence. I am a proud atheist. We are working hard to change the  world to a world that lives in reality. A world that is free of fundies and fanatics. Free of religion which has caused all the war death and destruction throughout history. Also I am a person of high morals something fundies do not possess.”

“Atheist when you were being held captive in the beautiful cabin by a peaceful lake, did you do any fishing?”

“Come to recall yes I did fish one day while my captor was slaughtering innocent men women and children. I could hear their screams while I was reeling in a big one.”

“Why didn’t you try to stop him? This is the question my boss said I must ask.”

“I couldn’t see him I tell you! I need evidence of his existence, there is none of course, yet I knew he was killing all these people. I heard their screams.”

“Can you tell us what you mean when you say he was killing innocent people, yet he does not exist, and you did not see him, but you heard their screams? How can he not exist yet commit all these heinous crimes you say you witnessed?”

“This is the thing: he is an imaginary being who wackos worship. I am much to intelligent to worship an imaginary flying spaghetti monster who kills innocent people. There are no fairies under the bed, okay?”

“Could you explain a little more?”

“Look when I was a kid my mind was totally clean when I was born an innocent baby. But what is the first thing I hear as soon as I can understand? Say your prayers and be good. I did this faithfully every night. But guess what not one prayer ever was answered. Out of the millions I prayed not one was answered. I got beat up in school, my dad lied to me, my friends betrayed me, it was awful. Then when I got a little older my little puppy died and that really cinched it for me.”

“Cinched what? That you had no faith?”

“No! that there is no man in the sky no god who cares. It is all a farce, a made up fairy tale, to dupe the simple-minded morons who go broke giving their money to lying money loving preachers I know of what I speak! I went to college and there I was more convinced there is no god. Darwin explained what happened we all evolved from goo. We are creatures who evolved over billions of years and learning who we are what we are where we came from. We are learning about the universe and how we relate to it. Science is my god it is fair it is honest and it provides evidence of reality. I can see it, it is there. And truth is 2+2 =4 this is reality. But to teach a child that there is a god who loves you is cruel and really is child abuse. It took me years to get over this nonsense of a god who cares.”

“Back to the cabin. Please explain how a non-existent entity can murder innocent people?”

“What do you mean a non-existent entity?”

“Hello? Please explain how a non-existent being can kill anyone? Where did you get this from? Oh yes the cabin the abduction the screams while you were barbecuing steaks. You said he was non-existent not me.”

“He is non-existent! I must have evidence!  However, I saw him committing cold blooded murder! Oh yes it was the Canaanite family he massacred one day for no reason except to watch them die. All they were doing was having a party one day and he slaughtered everyone of them. I saw this happen!”

“Of course you did….. Now… Why did you say he is non-existent if you saw him killing people?”

“He is the non-existent being.”

“Please explain for the umpteenth time, I ask you explain to a waiting world, I ask you to explain how… how… how a non-existent being can kill? You realize of course this is not possible for something that does not exist to do things only things that do exist can do?  It is called evidence. You do understand that don’t you? Sounds to me like it is you that believes in flying spaghetti monsters.”
