God’s Judgment On False Prophets

Carl Olof Rosenius preaching in Betlehemskyrka...

Jesus said …..He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18)

I heard a prophet on a Christian television program say that some preachers are going to start dropping dead behind their pulpits.

If a preacher says God will make us prosper if we send them money, I do not believe it. However, if they say God is going to kill you if you don’t repent, then I believe it. Why? Because He did it all the time in the Bible.

God does not love anyone more than he loved Ananias and Sapphira. Yet he struck them dead. Peter rebuked them before all.

He did not offer them counselling. He did not offer them a chance. He did not instruct them to go recite one-hundred Hail Mary’s. He did not tell them “I understand. No one is perfect.” He offered no altar to kneel and repent at. No covering it up. Peter did not even forgive them himself. He said for lying to the Holy Ghost you must die.

Next scene: two corpses lying at Peter’s feet. One died, then the other. Their dead bodies carried out, and buried, and the church rolled on.

We can just imagine how filled with fear all the church was after seeing these two now alive, now dead. Struck dead before them all. It would appear that those of Peter’s congregation did not try the same thing Ananias and Sapphira tried.

Back to the pulpit deaths…of course we know a pulpit means more than the standard ones we see in churches. Any preacher out there who is preaching a false gospel is in danger of being among those who drop dead under the judgment of God.

You know that God hasn’t changed one iota about how he sees sin. He still hates it and it will still be punished. Nothing has changed.

Why do some ministers who stand behind a pulpit preaching not live as God commands them to live? Simple answer: they don’t want to. How do we know this is true? Because God is good, and he is just, and he is merciful. He will never, ever, ever command us to do what we cannot do THROUGH Christ.

It is possible to live for Jesus.

And Paul the apostle said we can do all things through Christ. If God told you to do it, then you can do it through him who loved us and bought us with his blood. Someone said God will not bring you to it, if he does not bring you through it.

God commands all men everywhere to repent. But man tells God go away. Not today God I’m busy having fun. I am satisfying my flesh so take a hike. Go away  God go away.

Jesus already said that few will find the way to eternal life. Many will go to hell. Horrible! Oh God does it have to be that many will be lost forever suffering the eternal flames of hell?

Some say there is no hell.

Do they really think the suffering we see today in the world is not allowed by God? God is Sovereign. He is either doing his will, or permitting what is not his will. How he does this is not to be understood. He warns the world repent repent repent or perish.

But as sinners from times of old the world tells God GO AWAY.

However God cannot go away. He is omnipresent and fills all in all.

When one sees the suffering in the world today, it is difficult to bear it. But it is God who allows it. If one does not obey he suffers.

Better to repent today then find out later that to die without Christ is to go to that place where the worm dies not and the fire is not quenched. Jesus said that not me.

When Are The Last Days?

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

And it shall come to pass in the last days, said God, I will pour out of my Spirit on all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: (Acts 2:17)

If anyone knew when the last days are it is the apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ. The men whose letters make up the New Testament. Also the Hebrew prophets knew it was days that were coming and they prophesied of them.

In the passage above Peter is preaching, quoting the Hebrew prophet Joel, the first sermon after the resurrection and ascension into heaven of Jesus. He is the apostle with the keys to the kingdom. Jesus gave them to him when he confessed that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God.

He knew and so did the others with him that the last days began then. So the last days have been going on for about 2000 years. And personally I believe not only are we living in the last days we are living in the eleventh hour and midnight is almost upon us when the Bridegroom comes.

So we know from this that the last days began from the first century AD  and continue to now. When Jesus was here on earth began the last days.

I have heard many skeptics say that nothing is new that all these things Jesus predicted have been happening right along. Yes all along the last two thousand years.

America is not even 300 years old? Yet in its short existence America has managed to so rebel against the laws of God that it is now home to hundreds of thousands of pythons?

God didn’t do this but people who do not think of consequences.

Earthquakes happening in frequency as never before which is another sign of the last days. Go check out the frequency of earthquakes now compared to a hundred years ago. No contest.

Jesus said that Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Luke 21:26)

Fear is nothing but anxiety and stress. And anxiety and stress are the cause of heart attacks as well as obesity and hating others.

The world has never been more dangerous. This cannot be refuted.

We are living in the last days when the four horses of the Revelation of Jesus Christ  have been sent into the earth.

They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. (Luke 17:27)

I have heard people say that this what Jesus said has ben happening all along. It is nothing new.

Exactly! And Jesus knew that a thousand or two thousand years later they would still be doing what they have been doing since the dawn of creation; partying!

Are you getting ready for that day? That last day? And even if the Lord delays his coming for the next 75 years are you ready to die and meet God in peace with Christ within to stand for you before God?

It is something to consider. Make plans for your eternal future because you do have one.
