Christian and Infidel

Christian: Would you explain exactly how a fish changed into a land animal billions of years ago? I reject the theory but just want to hear what you say about it.

Infidel: It was a lovely day. The sun was brightly shining. The waves of the deep blue sea were gently splashing against the rocks. Suddenly a fish swam near the shoreline. Next thing you know it is on land desperately trying to take in air through its quills. It tried and tried but died a horrible death after a few minutes.

Christian: Enter time-god.

Infidel: A billion years passed and another fish tried it. Of course literally trillions of fish had been trying this without success while the billion years were cruising along. Probably 300 billion years vanished into oblivion.  Nothing existed but marine life. Land was a barren wilderness void of living entities. But then came that fateful day which will live forever in infamy. This time a brave little fish was able to try to breathe in air through its quills a millionth of a second longer than the fish a billion years before. This was an exciting breakthrough for the human race. According to our dating machines which are without error it would only b e 1,000,000,000 billion years before the goo to fish to bird to reptile to ape to beastly smelly creature to man would appear. Then after another ten billion years passed the same thing is repeated. The next fish stays longer out of the water, then  the next fish longer then the last…and you get the picture.

Christian: So finally after an unbelievable billions of years go by finally a fish jumps out of the water breathes in air through its quills and becomes a land creature?

Infidel: Yes. After billions of years more, it then changed into a reptile. You know the process.  You can just imagine how long that took. It then sprouted wings and flew off into the wilderness to change into a bear. Within each creature was the stuff needed to become whatever natural selection made it to be. It just happened. There is no other explanation for man’s existence but that that makes sense.

Christian: So what was going on in outer space?

Infidel: The usual stuff. Black holes swallowing entire galaxies. Stars forming while planets collided with other planets causing gigantic tears in the universe. Terrific explosions caused by mysterious happenings no one can  understand. The universe is a mysterious place. It cannot be understood nor grasped. But as we study its workings we somehow learn who we are. For all we know we are part of the stars since we are all one with the cosmos.

Christian: What did the goo look like?

Infidel: Just your usual run of the mill goo. Nothing special.

Christian: What do you think of the prepositional phrase In the beginning?

Infidel: No one knows if there was a beginning. We can only speculate.

Christian: Speculate? Yet you speak of fish becoming lions after quadrillions of years for no apparent reason as if you were there watching it happen. There is no way, no way at all that anyone could know what took place long ago unless someone was there and wrote it down for us. What you are putting forward is merely a theory a guess. Really what the Bible calls imagination. A very dangerous thing is imagination. It is the mind wandering off to parts unknown..Seriously without documents to support what you say than you speak into the air. God communicated with us long ago. He sent us a message to let us know that he made us. He made himself known to the human race. This is only a few thousand years ago. We have written proof.

Infidel:  I admit we have no documents that go back trillions of years ago but Darwin said we came from apes.

Christian: And Darwin is dead right?

Infidel: Well yeah he died like we all must do.

Christian: How can you put any faith in a dead man?

Infidel: He left books.

Christian: So did others but that doesn’t mean the books are truthful.

Infidel: My exact point about the Bible.

Christian: The Bible proves itself. It is the only book that reads us. It can be proven in every way that exists. From it we learn how to live happy.

Editor’s note: before gills were gills they were quills it was a genetic mix up     because of the interrelationship to the porcupine which would evolve zillions of years later on a dark summer night..

Atheist 10

Theist: Please explain how we evolve improving as we go but die anyway?  How is that improvement. Did you know that depression is darkness? It is totally negative. How did evolution not rid the world of depression and disease? Why did it not correct all these problems since it had billions of years to do it. That is a lot of time and still evolution gets it wrong.

Atheist: I will answer your questions but you tell me what darkness is. You tell me what is dark matter if you know.

Theist: Look we both know that dark matter emits no light. We are told the universe is 75% dark energy and 20% dark matter and only 5% normal matter. Hey there are spiritual implications here.

Atheist: Dark matter and energy is the violence of the universe. It makes all this stuff as it explodes and erupts making new galaxies and stuff. We really cannot understand its properties when we can’t even see it. We only know it exists because of its gravitational pull.

Theist: Do you think if you were able to travel where Hubble only dreams of going would you be afraid?

Atheist: Terrified. Deep space past every galaxy to the far unknown reaches of space would be downright scary. I’ve seen videos and have gone to planetarium. It is dark out there and I would not want to go there. I mean it seems to have no end.

Theist: Like God said of his understanding, it is infinite.  When I first read that scripture that says the Lord’s understanding is infinite it almost knocked me over. It goes on and on and on. Also since the universe is expanding faster than it was this means it is bigger and bigger. How you could think the universe is a self evolving subject is incredible. It would seem to me to be a dangerous thing with no one in control of what it does or where it goes. Like it could suddenly collapse or disappear. I do not like the thought that there is no Captain at the helm.

Atheist: Well there isn’t. We are on our own lost in a vast universe with nothing to look forward to but death for all of us eventually.

Theist: By the way if we evolved as you say, which I know we did not, than your time-god is cruel beyond description. It makes billions upon billions no really zillions. No it makes numberless creatures to engage in cannibalism and sexual perversion only to die after learning one thing…I mean adapting to his arthritis so the next wild hairy smelly beast can learn a little more about his arthritis only to die in a swamp of hunger and ignorance.. Now that is a cruel time-god. You would think after billions of years the time-god could have done a better job.

Atheist: I will say this once more. Time is an emotionless thing. It just passes it doesn’t see hear feel think or see. It simply passes. As it passes the smelly hairy grunting beastly creatures graduate after millions of years to forming a sound that is not a grunt.

Theist: Like what for instance?

Atheist: I wasn’t there so how could I know?

Theist: And there we have it you finally admit there is no way you could know what happened a gazillion years ago. Did your dating machines go on the blink? Oh I was going to say that the darkness that exists in our universe can be felt. We feel it with our minds. We see it therefore  we choose light.

Atheist: Seeing is not feeling.

Theist: Excuse me…the man they used in that experiment; the one they placed in that dark room without light for a week, all alone, felt his loneliness and his fear was apparent when he began to imagine an enemy in the room  with him. I would safely say he felt the darkness.

Atheist: He felt his own insecurities.

Theist: Why was he immediately comforted and strengthened by the candle they placed near him? Where were his insecurities then? He responded favorably to light and warmth.

Atheist: So what is your point?

Theist: The universe is dark it is black. The dark energy and dark matter is greater than the normal matter. The sun is a created thing by God and without it we are done. Can’t you understand how much we need the sun? The light? warmth?

Atheist: But we have it. I see no problem.

Theist:When one dies there is no sun it must be very dark.

Atheist: I can’t believe how negative you are. Man evolved and he will evolve until he is perfection.

Theist: I think not. After billions of years and still man is quite a mess tells me the time-god is cruel whereas the real God Yahweh has given us hope and more than that he sent his Son to save us. The time-god kills billions of creatures over periods of billions of years and still hasn’t got it right, than atheists have the nerve to say the God of the Bible is cruel.

Atheist: Save us from what?

Theist: From anything that robs us hates us and tries to destroy us.

David Barton Claims America Founded on God’s Word.

The New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street, Ne...

Image via Wikipedia

I quote now from another site (one could copy and paste this quote and Google and find the site) about the man whose beliefs I oppose in this blog.  “David Barton is the Founder and President of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization that presents America’s forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on our moral, religious and constitutional heritage.” ( end of quote)

Barton proudly wears stars and stripes shirts showing that he is American. He also sports a ten-gallon hat. His red white and blue wardrobe is to boast of his so-called heritage that he is an American, the best there is, and the favorite of God. He claims this nation was founded on the Bible. He also claims to be a Christian when in fact, the Bible greatly differs from his beliefs.

He ignores or is totally ignorant of American history. He is also ignorant of the holy Bible and of the nature and character of God.

This nation is not founded on the Bible. It is an insult to God what this man is spreading to the Bible ignorant. Barton’s whole agenda is to present God as he sees God . And God is not Barton’ puppet. God is none of the things Barton presents him to be. I happened to catch him on TBN talking to Matt and Laurie Crouch. His rhetoric was unbiblical.

God founded his church on the earth in the hearts of those who come to him in repentance to Christ. He calls all nations all people to come to him. But Barton wants to selfishly possess God. He wants to tie a golden chain around God’s neck and call him America’s Attack Dog. He wants to sic God on other nations (individuals)  because they do not share his beliefs. He wants to force the world to bow to what he sees as the only nation in the world that has God. His view of God is limited to `from sea to shining sea.`

God is omnipresent and he is omniscient and omnipotent. God is not Barton’s little pet to carry around in his red white and blue shirt pocket. Then pull him out as a show and tell for the founding fathers.  Barton’s red/white/blue presentation is basically he dressed as the American flag claiming..“This is the American flag and this is God and this is the gospel.”

Is Barton a keeper? No he is a troublemaker of the first order. He is out there presenting the ALMIGHTY as an American and not as the dear Savior of all men that he truly is.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men. (1 Timothy 2: 1)

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

So how was this nation founded on the Bible?  On Judeo-Christian principles? The Greek columns and temples that contain all American thought is Greek  inspired. It is Greek and Roman not Hebraic. The laws of the United States, as all laws in civilized nations; reward right and punish wrong. The Greek philosophies, and all things Greek and Roman are sure signs this nation was not founded on Hebraic teachings.

In truth all nations are under God. They are all founded on the simple basic desire to do the right thing. Wanting to be happy is the desire of all nations. There only exists in the universe good and evil to do. You either do one or the other. No lukewarm stuff with God. Lukewarm living brings his wrath on anyone who thinks he will be part of his lukewarmness. All people in all lands do either good or evil or both.God rewards good and punishes evil; it is that clear.

If you don’t believe this then go study the case of Cornelius in Acts 10. Or the Roman centurion who build a synagogue for the Jews.

No nation is favored by God. Nothing is approved by God but Christ himself. God said of Jesus This is my beloved Son in whom I am  well pleased.” God never said that of any nation or people. Only in Christ is God well pleased.

Let the dead bury the dead Jesus said. And follow him. Jesus will not lead you to palaces and castles. He will lead you to the fields where the souls for whom he died are perishing.

Israel his elect nation because of repeated acts of disobedience by playing the harlot under every green tree was scattered among the nations. Where does that leave the rest of  the nations that do not obey? Judgment begins at the house of God.

What happened to Israel should give us a clue what will happen to people who sin against God.

Each person is a nation as proved by God telling Rebecka two nations were in her womb. Two human beings were two nations before they were even born. Two nations who became many nations.

Barton doesn’t seem to understand that within the United States are many many many many nations. But the only “holy nation”the apostle Peter spoke of in his letter is the church, which is the Body of Christ which Body is all over the globe.

Determining what is right however is the problem for many when they do not know the Bible or care what it says. But the Bible is still correct in its teachings. History tells us nations do not always do the right thing but go to war against each other.  Murder and rapes and crime of all sorts are a worldwide epidemic. Adultery and fornication and other sexually immoral sins are committed worldwide on a daily basis.

Nowhere does the Bible say to do these things. In fact it commands to do the opposite. No nation on earth throughout history obeys the Bible as is proved by trillions of sins committed daily with no repentance by the nations committing them.

Daily God is treated as if he is nothing. But nations don’t come to God souls do. Jesus did not die for nations he died for you and me individually. Barton is dangerous in that he is indirectly telling the world that God is stupid. Barton thinks that God thinks like him.

I remember when I was a little four-year old  child sitting in a little church where I heard about Jesus for the first time. I was so overtaken by the gospel message from the preacher that I was barely able to wrap my little four-year old mind around it. I was almost falling over in the pew. I heard him say that Jesus had died for me. Well I didn’t take it that he had died for anyone else in the church. And many people were there that day. I took that message as personal as it could be personal.

That was God’s intention his purpose for me to hear that message as a personal message for me from him. I cannot describe my shock and joy to learn that a man I didn’t even know had died for me. All my little four year old mind could think was oh how he must love me!

Well I also learned that since he loved me that much he must also love ALL people that much. People everywhere! It cannot be that I am the only one he loves and died for. So when I learned as an adult that he died for all people in all lands in all ages I was completely overcome with love and gratitude to such a God. It caused me to love all those he died for which would include every person on planet earth.

I was completely overwhelmed to hear this. I did wrap my mind around it. I processed it. I understood and to this day that experience has never left me.

Jesus died for me and he died for YOU reader whoever you may be. He did not die for nations as some call nations. He died for YOU. He died so you could live.

Barton’s thing is to make God an American. Barton’s thing is to restrict God and his love to America. He should be going around telling the world that Jesus loves all people in all lands and wants all to come to him today.

Salvation is an individual thing it has nothing to do with nations unless that nation is Israel.

It is true that when the Biblical Rebecka was pregnant with Jacob and Esau God told her that two nations were in her womb. So from this we know that each person is a nation. Jesus died for the nation that YOU are. That I am.

What is founded on the word of God? Only the Bible itself can claim it is holy and without error. But nations who kill each other who rise up against each other killing the very people for whom Christ died is NOT from teachings founded on the Bible. All nations have done that.

Christ’s message was of repentance. The first word, recorded in the gospel, that Jesus said when he began his ministry was Repent.

The Bible does not anywhere give rights to anyone. Yet America gives rights to whoever, to do whatever, wherever. This nation was founded on individual rights not on the holiness of the word of God. Barton could never show that it does.

The Bible teaches that not even the right to control our breath is ours. Our breath is a loan so to speak. It doesn’t belong to us to keep it as long as we want as is proved by deaths occurring every minute all over the globe. When God says it is time it is time and no one is exempt. Disease and accidents take lives by the millions and no one can do one thing about it. I do not have the right to decide anything that is not under the control of God. And everything is under his control. All nations and all people.

Yet America is famous for its rights for all people to do whatever they think is right.

“Ye are not your own: for ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”(1 Corinthians 6:19-20.)

Where in this passage do we have any rights? God is not foolish. He is not going to trust man with rights. God gave the world commandments. We can see what man does when he thinks he has rights. The world is in dire straits because of man exercising his rights.

The right to remove prayer from schools.  The right to say Thank God for dead Soldiers. The right to divorce your spouse because someone else looks better. The right to deny the Lord who bought you with his blood. The right to protest anything you disagree with. The right to kill the unborn. The right to “marry” one of your own sex. The right to parade naked down a street dressed in the American flag. The right to a trial after you committed cold-blooded murder. The right to kill yourself and call it euthanasia. The right to pull the plug of helpless people as was done to Terry Schiavo. The right to sue for no reason.

The Constitution is not founded on the Bible. The Bible commands men to repent. The Constitution is founded on the right to sin and sin and sin some more. This is your right

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36)

Freedom isn’t the right to sin. Jesus means freedom from sin. SIN is the transgression of the law of Moses. Jesus sets free from sin. Then are you free when you quit sinning and follow the Lord Jesus.

What is right and what is wrong? Does China try to do the right thing? Does Brazil? Does Canada? Yes they all do and so are they founded on the Bible? Yes if they believe in home and family. If they believe in justice and retribution for evil and reward for good. All nations under the sun seek for love and justice. They seek to be happy as do all nations everywhere. This is from the Bible.

But no nation  obeys the Bible without error so as to be called holy to the Lord.

[Israel is a nation holy to the Lord because he founded that nation for the express purpose of bringing Jesus into the world.]

When God handed down the law to Israel at Sinai he gave them exact laws to live by. He told them exactly what to do to be happy and to live fulfilling lives. Only a demented person would not want to be happy. This is what the Bible is about. God shows us how to be happy. Is that happiness confined to one nation? No because all nations are under God and he loves everyone of us.

The SUN our Light?

The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System. It has a diameter of about 1,392,000 km, about 109 times that of Earth, and its mass (about 2×1030 kilograms, 330,000 times that of Earth) accounts for about 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System.[10] About three quarters of the Sun’s mass consists of hydrogen, while the rest is mostly helium. Less than 2% consists of heavier elements, including oxygen, carbon, neon, iron, and others.[11] (from Wikipedia)

We all know what the SUN is, how much we need its light each day. It makes the flowers bloom. It makes the crops grow to provide us food.

Not only do we need its light but its warmth its comfort and its guiding power. Many people love the sun so much they get depressed when it hides behind a cloud. In some places where it rains alot they become depressed and long for the sun’s comforting healing rays.

I have heard some say when dark clouds hang overhead..”I wish the sun would come out.”  as if they do not have happiness if the sky is overcast. God made all seasons and all weather. We need to be thankful in them all.

In the beginning after God created the heavens and the earth as says Genesis one, the spirit of God moved upon the face of the deep, then GOD SAID let there be light.

And of course there was light after he said for light to be.

He made the greater light to rule the day. The lesser light to rule the night.

Two lights. Yes the moon gets her light from the sun so they say.

But that is not my point here.

Jesus Christ said I am the light of the world. In another place (Matthew 5:14) he said to those who heard him You are the light of the world.

Later on Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”(John 8:12)

We know he was not calling his listeners little suns or moons when he called them the light of the world. But he referred to himself as the Light of the world.

He means the light of his love and of his grace in those who believe in him. He is the light of life.

Which love and grace makes the path clear, that we may not stumble, as we follow him.

Walking in the light of his love and grace. Jesus is the true light the real light the only light. I always think of the sun as a physical light like when I turn on a lamp. I am always mindful that the sun is not the true light. Nor the light bulbs I use to light up a dark room true light.

A man lay dying of cancer in a hospital bed. He knew that he would not live. He asked to be taken to the window so he could see the sun one more time. He knew that when he passed from this world there was no sun where he was going.

Thankfully he had the light of Jesus in him when he asked to see the sun one more time. He had made his peace with God after a long and wicked life.

The sun is a physical ball of gas in the sky placed there by God when he spoke it into its existence. WE all know this.

In the grave there is no light. No sun to warm the heart and body.

How important it is to have the true light which is Christ in us. And when we die we will not pass into darkness.
