God’s Judgment On False Prophets

Jesus said …..He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:18)

I heard a prophet on a Christian television program say that some preachers are going to start dropping dead behind their pulpits.

If a preacher says God will make us prosper if we send them money, I do not believe it. However, if they say God is going to kill you if you don’t repent, then I believe it. Why? Because He did it all the time in the Bible.

God does not love anyone more than he loved Ananias and Sapphira. Yet he struck them dead. Peter rebuked them before all.

He did not offer them counselling. He did not offer them a chance. He did not instruct them to go recite one-hundred Hail Mary’s. He did not tell them “I understand. No one is perfect.” He offered no altar to kneel and repent at. No covering it up. Peter did not even forgive them himself. He said for lying to the Holy Ghost you must die.

Next scene: two corpses lying at Peter’s feet. One died, then the other. Their dead bodies carried out, and buried, and the church rolled on.

We can just imagine how filled with fear all the church was after seeing these two now alive, now dead. Struck dead before them all. It would appear that those of Peter’s congregation did not try the same thing Ananias and Sapphira tried.

Back to the pulpit deaths…of course we know a pulpit means more than the standard ones we see in churches. Any preacher out there who is preaching a false gospel is in danger of being among those who drop dead under the judgment of God.

You know that God hasn’t changed one iota about how he sees sin. He still hates it and it will still be punished. Nothing has changed.

Why do some ministers who stand behind a pulpit preaching not live as God commands them to live? Simple answer: they don’t want to. How do we know this is true? Because God is good, and he is just, and he is merciful. He will never, ever, ever command us to do what we cannot do THROUGH Christ.

It is possible to live for Jesus.

And Paul the apostle said we can do all things through Christ. If God told you to do it, then you can do it through him who loved us and bought us with his blood. Someone said God will not bring you to it, if he does not bring you through it.

God commands all men everywhere to repent. But man tells God go away. Not today God I’m busy having fun. I am satisfying my flesh so take a hike. Go away  God go away.

Jesus already said that few will find the way to eternal life. Many will go to hell. Horrible! Oh God does it have to be that many will be lost forever suffering the eternal flames of hell?

Some say there is no hell.

Do they really think the suffering we see today in the world is not allowed by God? God is Sovereign. He is either doing his will, or permitting what is not his will. How he does this is not to be understood. He warns the world repent repent repent or perish.

But as sinners from times of old the world tells God GO AWAY.

However God cannot go away. He is omnipresent and fills all in all.

When one sees the suffering in the world today, it is difficult to bear it. But it is God who allows it. If one does not obey he suffers.

Better to repent today then find out later that to die without Christ is to go to that place where the worm dies not and the fire is not quenched. Jesus said that not me.

Hell and How Not To Get There

When God said he is a jealous God he didn’t mean he is weeping tears like an offended weak lover. I have read some say that God is weeping over America. I think not. Never in the Bible does the Lord weep over anything. Or anyone. Except once when He wept over Jerusalem when he saw their destruction coming. He tolerates no worship of anything only of himself.

In 70 AD just as Jesus said Jerusalem was laid waste. Their temple destroyed and a multitude of Jews died. Those who managed to escape were scattered among the nations to wander a suffering rejected people even as God said would happen to them for all their sins.

I understand God to be a consuming fire. A God that without mercy can decimate a nation in an instant like he did to Nineveh. They did repent at Jonah’s preaching. But seventy years later he did destroy them. I see God as one who does not, will not tolerate disobedience. He is God and does not appreciate anyone or anything trying to exalt themselves when he is the only exalted one.

I got a clear clue of the nature of God when he cast from heaven a beautiful angel who said I will be like the Most High. God told him You will be brought down to the sides of the pit. No mercy no chance no constitutional rights no nothing. Angel becomes the devil..forever.  End of story.

God did not redeem that disobedient angel. The Canaanites had over 400 years to repent. they did not and he utterly destroyed them. One man reached out to keep the ark of the covenant from tipping and God struck him dead. Ananias and Sapphira were stuck dead  for lying to the Holy Spirit. Herod was struck dead for not giving God glory and the worms ate him up. Then the next verse says But the word of God grew and multiplied.

We humans have a chance and only because of Christ. Without Christ it is hell. God will do it. There are some people who are actually (scary) going to hear Jesus say to them, Depart from me I never knew you. They will have to depart. Depart to where? To where the worm dies not and the fire is not quenched. To the outer darkness.

Read about him through the Bible beginning at Genesis to Malachi. He is there and then he is not there. As you study God and his dealings with Israel.  He is doing great miracles. Then things change and he is not doing it as before.  Things dramatically change. Israel bows down to every false god and commits harlotry under every green tree.

God got tired of it. Next scene: Israel is  punished rebuked and scattered among the nations. And the Old Testament ends with God saying… Lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

How much proof do humans need that God does not like disobedience. If one sins they are his enemy make no mistake. How do you feel when your child disobeys you? Say they did continually while making fun of you. You would not look at their disobedience and mockery and say how cute they are. Nor would you weep over them. You will set them in order or you are not a fit parent. How much more God?

Yet this is what many do to God today. Mock him not realizing he is giving them time to repent. He said his Spirit will not always strive with man. And he prefers mercy to judgment.

God is love. However what many do not realize is this: he is also a God of judgment. God cuts no slack to anyone who mocks him. His only remedy is Christ. Reject His Son and you are done.

I read a  true story of a man whose young daughter died. The father got angry at God. He left church one day a bitter and angry man. As he passed close to a tree lightning struck the tree.  The angry father of the dead child screamed up at God.. Do it again God!!!

The years moved forward until thirty years to the day had passed since God  struck that tree with lightning. .It so happened that this man was passing that same tree by that church one day. Suddenly out of the sky came lightning and struck it again. God did not apologize to the man. But the man finally surrendered to God.

It is best to surrender and go along peacefully One preacher said that God does not negotiate with us because we have nothing to negotiate with.  We have nothing to bring to the table.

Humble yourselves and repent. Be sorry for your sins and get Jesus in you. Then when he sees the Blood he will do for you as he did for ancient Israel when the death angel passed through Egypt killing all the firstborn..he will Pass over you.

Apply the Blood of Jesus to the doorpost of your heart and soul to your life and be saved from what is coming on the earth.
